Sporty NZ App

Thank you to everyone who has put their memberships through for the season. A reminder that we no longer issue membership cards — all key info is now available digitally.

Keep up to date with green openings and closures via the Sporty NZ App.
The green is generally open from 9am until dusk, but please keep an eye on the app for any last-minute closures.

To get set up, download the Sporty NZ App, add Sumner Bowling Club as your organisation, and you’ll receive alerts and updates straight to your phone.

Club Calendar / Programme

You can find the full club calendar on our website.
We’ve added more detail this year, including specific green scheduling, social functions, and rink usage.

• We have 8 rinks available.
• We’ve tried to show when rinks are in use and how many are booked.
• Outside of full-day events, there are usually rinks free for a roll-up.

We’ll keep the calendar as up-to-date as possible, though the odd last-minute booking may not appear straight away.

Regular Club Activities

Monday, 5.30–6.30pm (Full & Limited Playing)
Coaching with Harriette and Thys for all levels.

Wednesday, 5–6.30pm (Full & Limited Playing)
Midweek Social Bowls — a relaxed and friendly way to get to know other members.

Friday, 10.30am–12pm (Full & Limited Playing)
Additional coaching with Phil – Finishing 2^nd December

Friday from 4pm (All Members)
Club Social Night!
Bunny will be behind the bar, a light supper is served at 6pm, and the Lucky Club Member draw runs between 6.30–7pm.

Interclub and Club Champs matches are ongoing.
Competitive games can be noted/booked on the whiteboard downstairs.

The bar may be open during legal hours when a duty barperson is available.

For Limited Members

If the green is open but the pavilion is closed, you’re still welcome to have a roll-up.
Jacks, mats, and bowls can be found in the black box under the pavilion balcony.
External toilets are located on the south side of the green.

Remember to check the Sporty App for green availability and the calendar for what’s happening at the club.

For Full Members

An updated contact list is available in the changing rooms.
Please check that your details are correct and let Jenny know if anything needs updating.

Friends & Visitors

Friends, family, and non-members are welcome to join you for a roll-up.
A $10 green fee per person per session applies for all non-members.
This can be paid over the bar or into the bank account noted above the black box under the pavilion balcony.
